For applications requiring strong flows and heavy sediment, the 20 inch Big Blue filter housing for Whole House / Jumbo filters with pressure relief is ideal. The black cap is constructed of high-flow polypropylene for stiffness, and the blue filter housing is reinforced polypropylene for strength and chemical resistance. The black cap contains input and output connections that are threaded with 1″ female National Pipe Thread Taper and an O-ring made of rubber to ensure a watertight seal. When changing filter cartridges, pressure in the housing is released using a pressure relief button on the intake side of the cap. A 20″ x 4-1/2″ filter cartridge (available separately) can be utilized with the housing. At a flow rate of 15, it has an initial pressure decrease of 1 pound per square inch (psi).
